School
Education is free but not readily
available to all children in Uganda. The state provides
schools and teachers with classroom having up to 100 children
but all the other costs of books etc. need to be met by the
families and this is often beyond their means.
Capstone Projects invited a
headmistress and a teacher from Lugazi to visit us this year.
We were able to get them into several schools and they were
very impressed by our approach to education in Scotland.
Capstone Projects would like to
buy land and build a school with 7 classrooms each for 30
children. This would give a modern school more along the
British system of today and not 100 years ago. This project
would cost about £45,000.
